I got hold of an iconic speech synth with 1984 roots, and went nuts for this single. After spending a couple of months on the Redeemer EP, I deliberately went more minimalist, more repetitive, more EDM. (I'll probably swing back to more melodic/synthwave again for my next release - we'll see.)

Turn It, the title track is a bouncy, catchy, high-energy little house tune. I deliberately fought the urge to think too hard about the melody, or add too many layers; it's self-consciously pop-y. I'm rather fond of it.

Give You the Funk, the B-side, actually took a lot longer to produce (do you have any idea how long it takes to program 6 verses, a call/response, and two different keys of chorus? DO YOU!?); and ironically, I'm much less happy with the outcome: it doesn't sound anywhere near as good as it did in my head. Still, I've sunk too much into it not to put it out there. Then I turned off the vocals and turned up the tempo for the "bonus track".
